About

Jadeley Louis-Jean is a Haitian-born visual artist, illustrator, and designer based in New Jersey. Her work spans painting, graphic design, and literary arts, blending Contemporary Figurative Symbolism with Afro-Caribbean spiritual motifs, Post-Impressionist color theory, and emotional portraiture. Her art reflects a deep engagement with identity, memory, emotional healing, and diasporic storytelling, often anchored by symbolic elements like moonflowers, lemon blossoms, and expressive human figures.

Jadeley is the founder of Jade’s Art Corner (est. 2018), an independent design studio through which she creates custom bookmarks, hand-painted journals, greeting cards, and original artworks. She is also the self-published author of two books, Anchors to Sea and Hibiscus, written under the pen name J. Bacchus. Her storytelling practice also includes Verona’s Comics, a webcomic developed during the 2020 pandemic that explores themes of vulnerability, grief, and emotional transformation through digital illustration.

In addition to her personal practice, Jadeley is the creator of Today I Feel Check-In Cards—a social-emotional learning tool that uses visual art and affirmations to help individuals and educators build emotional awareness. This project exemplifies her commitment to merging mental health advocacy with creative expression.
